Last week, there was a breach in the 20th Century Fox camp when the first trailer for The A-Team was leaked onto the internet for the whole world to see. Unlike most people I couldn’t watch it unless it was in the best, high quality conditions. It just didn’t seem right staring at Bradley Cooper‘s abs without the help of HD technology. The official trailer for the film has finally been released, and after watching it a few times, I’m glad I waited…

The A-Team is a big screen adaptation of the popular 1980′s TV show that centered on a group of falsely accused military men forced to live underground. The characters are Lt. Templeton ‘Faceman’ Peck, Col. John ‘Hannibal’ Smith, Capt. ‘Howling Mad’ Murdock, and Sgt. Bosco ‘B.A.’ Baracus. If you grew up with the show when it was on or through reruns, those names should send a chill down your spine. In the film Cooper, Liam Neeson, Sharlto Copley, and Quinton Rampage Jackson take on the notable roles, and they try to do it in style.

The A-Team is directed by Joe Carnahan, and the trailer seems to take several cues from the original series. The only thing that gets under my skin is the narrator who claims that the men are “soldiers for hire” as opposed to “soldiers of fortune.” It’s a fanboy nitpick, but I had to throw it out there.

Here’s the first A-Team trailer…
