For those of you who were lucky enough to block Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen out of your mind, I’m sorry to inform you that it’s back. We all knew that Transformers 3 was well on its way even before ROTF’s release, and now the film’s production is upon us. Over at DeadlineHollywoodDaily, they ran a report on franchise star Shia LaBeouf and it had some important info about the film’s start date.
The post was discussing LaBeouf’s decision to sign with the talent agency CAA, and in the last line the author dropped a jewel about Transformers 3. “LaBeouf recently wrapped Oliver Stone’s Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps, which opens in April. He’ll likely start work in May on Transformers 3.” The film is scheduled for a 2011 summer release, possibly for July 1st to capitalize on the Fourth of July weekend.
Another non-shocking revelation is that Paramount is thinking about shooting the film in 3-D. Hollywood has been obsessed with the trend for the past few years, and these days a blockbuster can’t be made without it. Transformers is a movie that could actually do well with the 3-D format, as long as Michael Bay doesn’t use it as a crutch for a sh*tty story. He did that with action and unnecessary robots in the last film, and we all know how well that went.
Do you think Transformers 3 should be shot in 3-D? Are you interested in seeing another film after watching Revenge of the Fallen?
