The upcoming action film Solomon Kane is an adaptation of the character created by Robert E. Howard who became well known via his appearance in pulp magazines such as Weird Tales. The film is directed by Michael J. Bassett and features James Purefoy in the title role. A new featurette has been released that shows some behind the scenes footage of the fight scenes that take place between Kane and his adversaries…

Kane is a somber-looking man who wanders the world with no apparent goal other than to vanquish evil in all its forms. His adventures often take him from Europe to the jungles of Africa and back. That means he encounters bad guys from all walks of life who he happily kills at the stroke of his sword. Even though it looks fancy on screen there’s a lot of work that goes into making the film’s fight scenes appear flawless and natural.

In the Solomon Kane fighting featurette, you see first hand the preparation that the actors and stunt coordinators go through to prepare for an action scene. Some of the footage in the video was shown at this year’s Comic-Con, and gives us an introduction to some of the best known stuntmen in the business. Here it goes…
