It sounds like Robert Rodriguez wants his Predators reboot to be a legit sci-fi/horror film. The film’s cast continues to grow with talented actors by the day. The latest to join in is Oscar nominee and current CSI honcho Laurence Fishburne, according to ShockTillYouDrop. Could this movie actually be good?
Predators is currently filming down in Texas, which is no surprise since that’s Rodriguez’s home base. We’ve learned that Fishburne will play a character named Roland in the film that will be directed by Nimrod Antal. The cast currently includes Oscar winner Adrien Brody, That ’70′s Show alum Topher Grace, Danny Trejo, Walton Goggins and Alice Braga. That’s not a bad group of people to have in a film that most people see as a campy horror remake.
The premise for Predators focuses on “a disparate group of people who land on the Predator home planet only to discover unspeakable horrors.” That means gross violence will ensue and the dreaded aliens will have their way with the humans. I can’t wait until some production photos are released, because this is one of the strangest casts to place in this type of movie. Hopefully there’s a master plan behind Rodriguez and Antal’s decision to choose these actors.
What do you think of Fishburne joining the cast of Predators?
