Alice in Wonderland Trailer

A new trailer has been released for Disney’s Alice in Wonderland, and it’s ten times better than the previous one. Since this isn’t a teaser, it actually tells us what the movie’s about, and reveals a lot of the characters. The visuals in the film look amazing and the actors are partially unrecognizable, which is good because you want to concentrate on the story, not Johnny Depp‘s bone structure.

In 2010, Tim Burton will tackle the classic children’s tale of Alice In Wonderland, in a way that only he can. He brings elements of Gothic surrealism to the story of a 19 year old Alice (Mia Wasikowska), who makes a dramatic return to the fantasy land she visited as a child. The cast is led by frequent collaborators Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter as the Mad Hatter and the evil Red Queen. Will Alice be able to end her reign of terror?

From the looks of it, Helena Bonham Carter may walk away with some of the best scenes in the film as the evil Red Queen. She portrays the character in a way that’s not cartoonish, even though a big chunk of the film is animated. You can tell that she takes the role very seriously, which does wonders for her performance.

Alice in Wonderland debuts in theaters everywhere on March 5, 2010.

We also put up a discussion that questions if this movie is really Alice in Wonderland or an adaptation of its sequel, Through the Looking Glass. Is this Alice’s return to wonderland?
