Robin Hood Photos With Russell Crowe and Cate Blanchett

The first official photos from Ridley Scott‘s Robin Hood have surfaced on an Australian website called, CourierMail. The film’s two leads are natives of the country so we shouldn’t be surprised that they got first dibs on any images. The pictures feature Russell Crowe as the title character, Cate Blanchett as Maid Marian, a few of the Merry Men, and director Scott.

Crowe has already worked with Scott on several films including Gladiator, which earned him his Best Actor Oscar, and 2007′s American Gangster. Now they’ve reunited for another round, and this time their tackling English folklore with the popular tale of Robin Hood.

Earl of Huntington, (Crowe) has returned to his North English village after fighting in the Third Crusade. Upon arrival, the nobleman and his servant discover the oppression caused by the new Sheriff of Nottingham (Matthew Macfadyen). Sir Robin uses his intelligence and military skills to free his home village from tyranny and corruption by taking back what is rightfully his, to restore justice and happiness to England. Robin must also win the affection of the recently widowed Lady Marian (Blanchett), while leading his Merry Men of Sherwood Forest to victory and fair.
