15th Annual Critics Choice Award Nominees
By Krystal Clark
This morning the nominees for the 15th Annual Critics Choice Awards were announced, and the list is filled with the usual suspects. The musical Nine and the Quentin Tarantino war drama Inglourious Basterds led the pack with ten nominations each, followed by James Cameron‘s Avatar, which earned nine nods, and The Hurt Locker and Up in the Air capped off the top five with eight nominations. Unlike a lot of the other awards, the Critics Choice opens the door to multiple genres, which gives more films the opportunity to be recognized.

What do you think of the nominees for this year’s Critic’s Choice Awards?

I like most of them but as bad as this sounds I think Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince should have been nominated if for nothing else; cinematography and definotly score.

WHAT??????? No Brad Pitt? He should have supporting Actor nod.
Tuesday, December 15, 2009 3:34AM
500 days of summer should have got a best picture nomination (along with Joseph Gordon-Levitt for best actor).
Tuesday, December 15, 2009 4:10AM
I agree with you HP should get at least a visual effects nomination.
Tuesday, December 15, 2009 6:50AM
No way. Yates has completely ruined HP for many fans. Both Azkaban and Goblet were marvellous, brilliant achievements. Then this sub-level director Yates for some bizarre reason gets the honor of directing the final HP films and turns them into staid, unimaginative, non-magical snoozers. I own every dvd prior to his unfortunate direction, but cannot and will not buy his films. Maybe the special effects are fine, however, it does not make up for lack of artistry, heart or imagination. So awful for fans who rightly expected more.

500 days of summer did get a nod – for best comedy.

it's all about how much was spent from the studios for these nominations. there where lots of better movies that where not even mention and all because they did not have a big studio backing them.
