Sunday morning, the folks in Beantown handed out their annual prizes to the top films and performances of 2009. The Kathryn Bigelow feature The Hurt Locker was the big winner and took home top honors for Best Picture, Best Director and Best Actor for its star Jeremy Renner. The rest of the awards from the critics essentially fell in line with what we’ve seen from other groups so far this season. This windfall for the film significantly strengthens its chances in a variety of categories for Oscar contention.
