VOTD: Pee-Wee’s Back!

A while ago we told you about Paul Reubens‘ decision to step back into the shoes of his pop culture character Pee Wee Herman. A new video has surfaced on the net that celebrates Pee-Wee’s return, and includes an interview with the entertainer. It kind of takes you back to the good old days, when Pee-Wee was the funniest thing on television.

Reubens recently sat down and did an interview discussing his reasons for returning to the the role that made him a household name. Apparently, producers had been calling him for years asking him to bring the character out of retirement, but he was understandably apprehensive about doing it. For those of us who grew up watching Pee-Wee on his Saturday morning series, Pee-Wee’s Playhouse the actor is looking to bring the show to the big screen. He stated that the stage show is the first step in getting the character back out there, and introducing him to a new audience.

Even though Reubens does the entire video in character, you can tell that his words are sincere. Hopefully, his new stage production is a success and we can get that new Pee-Wee movie we’ve all been waiting for.
