Jennifer Hudson has earned the right as an elite actress to handel the role. She has worked her way up in the industry. It is for that reason she was choosen to even do the movie. The director of the movie is from SA , and if he wanted an actress from there he would have choosen one. Jennifer has what it takes to play any role in a movie. The young multi-talented super star is incredible and for real with hers. SA will never create a hollywood over there.

good insight here. i think i am more concerned about whether someone like Hudson can even handle this role, more so than her national background being a qualification.

Reminds me of when Argentineans freaked out when Madonna was cast in Evita. Granted, Madonna had a scandalous reputation (although they must have forgotten that so did Eva Peron).
