New Prince of Persia Poster is Courageous

A new international poster has been released for the upcoming Disney adaptation, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. The film is based off the popular video game and features Jake Gyllenhaal as the title character. Several posters have already been released in promotion of the film but none of them have been this in your face.

The latest Prince of Persia poster emphasizes Gyllenhaal’s face as well as the word, “Courage”, which matches the Gemma Arterton poster which featured “Destiny” as the word of the day. These one sheets are a bit too Sesame Street in my opinion but hopefully a few better ones will come along.

In the film, Gyllenhaal plays Prince Dastan a young man who reluctantly joins forces with a mysterious princess (Arterton) and together, they race against dark forces to safeguard an ancient dagger capable of releasing the Sands of Time—a gift from the gods that can reverse time and allow its possessor to rule the world.

The movie is directed by Mike Newell and executive produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and Disney Studios. The film is slated to hit theaters next summer on May 28, 2010. Check out the new poster:
