Okinawa is part of Japan. The word "Karate" and "Te" are also Japanese. Yes, lots of martial arts are based upon Chinese work, but this implication is definitely Japanese.

Lmao. This has potential to be a good movie. But coming straight out as the next Kirate Kid? Come on! If plot remained decent and action isn't cheesy, than maybe I spend my money. But if this is just another lame as attempt to make money off of an already dead beat film, using Jackie Fricken Chan and Will smiths kid than I hope someone kicks the film producers asses all the way back to Mr Miyagi's village in Japan.

Oh and yea fucktard, Karate is derived from Kempo and Kung fu. Fair to say Kempo known to some as the law or way of the fist also has roots in China. But the biggest blow to your fat tongue comes from the fact that FUCKING KARATE MEANS CHINA HANDS. If this movie fails, I hope they kick you ass all the way to Japan as well. Lol

Horrid. Terrible. Awful. Ridiculously wrong on a number of levels. Yet another movie that will provide reasons to hate the movie industry. I project massive box office failure. This is a straight-to-dvd hack job that somehow managed to get approved for production despite being so obviously bad. Jackie Chan should have turned this down.

And to the idiot above who said that Karate is Japanese, no, it isn't. It was developed in Okinawa from indigenous fighting techniques called '"te", and Chinese Kenpo. Learn something before you spout off.
