I like how they're teasing it. It's a major part of his character, why he's not the same Confederate soldier before his disfigurement and why he's a man of his own principles after. His disfigurement sometimes plays in some stories where it makes him difficult to trust or to be grateful to, and even for readers his countenance is a little off putting, so it's like teasing the Superman or Spider-Man logo.
