Oscar winner Tommy Lee Jones has jumped ship from his latest project entitled, The Lincoln Lawyer. According to Variety, the actor was set to direct the film and co-star alongside Matthew McConaughey, but there’s been a change of plans. This leaves The Lincoln Lawyer with no director and less talent, what will the studio do?
Jones supposedly left the film over “creative differences” and is no longer attached to the project in any capacity. The Lincoln Lawyer is being produced by LakeShore Entertainment as an adaptation of the Michael Connelly novel of the same name. They are currently on the look out for someone else to take over Jones’ directing spot, but until then everything has been put on hold. This little set back isn’t hurting Jones’ career though, the actor has several projects on the horizon to keep him occupied.
Jones worked on the HBO adaptation of Cormac McCarthy’s The Sunset Limited, which he also directed. He’s preparing himself for Ernest Hemingway’s Islands in the Stream, and recently wrapped the feature film The Company Men with Ben Affleck and Kevin Costner. With these types of options, it doesn’t look like Tommy Lee Jones will be losing any sleep over dropping out of The Lincoln Lawyer, but what’s Matthew McConaughey going to do?
What do you think of Jones dropping out of The Lincoln Lawyer?
