Glamorous Nine Poster

Finally a theatrical poster has been released for the upcoming Rob Marshall musical, Nine. The film was originally set to hit theaters this week, but was pushed back to Christmas instead. The feature adaptation of the popular Broadway play is led by two-time Academy Award winner Daniel Day-Lewis and a slew of equally talent ladies.

Based on the popular Broadway show, Nine follows a famous film director named Guido Contini (Day-Lewis) who’s struggling to juggle all of the different dysfunctional personal and professional relationships in his life.

Rob Marshall is known for his glossy musicals, most noticeably his 2002 Best Picture winner Chicago, which swept the majority of the awards that year. The director plans on doing it again by busting out the big guns that includes an Oscar winning cast. As previously stated, Daniel Day-Lewis is the lead character in this film but he’s promoted by some of the strongest actresses in the business.

As if Nicole Kidman, Penelope Cruz, and Marion Cotillard weren’t enough Marshall brought on two screen legends with Sophia Loren and Judi Dench. This film has Oscar contention written all over it. Nine hits theaters in limited release on December 18th and will expand nationally on December 25th.
