The truth will finally revealed about the island and the surviving passengers of Oceanic Flight 815 when Lost premieres on ABC next February. The network just released the date for the show, which will debut on Tuesday night as opposed to it’s Wednesday night slot from the previous season.
Lost will officially return on Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at 9pm on ABC. Similar to their earlier premieres, the programming block will be considered an all night Lost event, with a recap airing at 8pm followed by the two hour premiere at 9. If you’re a fan of the new Wednesday comedy block that ABC has established, you should understand why they didn’t want to shift everything over for the show’s final season.
With Lost moving to Tuesdays at 9, some believe it will be the lead in for the new show V, which might follow in the 10 pm slot. This would be interesting considering Elizabeth Mitchell has a starring role on both. Speaking of Lost actors, the updated cast list was also released and it turns out that several people have been bumped up to regular from recurring status including, Nestor Carbonell, Ken Leung, Jeff Fahey, Zuleikha Robinson, and Emilie de Ravin will make a full time return.
If you look closely at the poster for this season, you can see every major character who’ve appeared on the show photoshopped in with the current cast. You could easily take that as a sign of some sort of reunion, but there have already been rumors that Maggie Grace won’t be able to reprise her role on the show for the finale due to scheduling conflicts. Also, Henry Ian Cusick is no longer listed as a regular but may make some recurring appearances.
This is a lot of info to take in, especially for die hard fans of the show like myself. It kind of sucks that Desmond won’t be back in full effect, but now that he has Penny (who’s hanging out on ABC’s Flash Forward), I guess he doesn’t need the gang anymore.
Are you going to tune in for the final season of Lost?
