Now that Iron Man 2 has wrapped and is in post production it’s time to put the next piece of this Marvel puzzle in place. Kenneth Branagh‘s adaptation of Thor is next in line to start filming according to a recent tweet from the folks over at Production Weekly. We can expect to see the movie take flight early next year.
According to their Twitter,
“Filming on Marvel’s Thor is scheduled to begin in LA mid-January, then move to Santa Fe, New Mexico from March till late-April.”
So, we have three location shoots look forward to, and the biggest question in my mind is which one will double for Asgard? Perhaps some vacant space in Santa Fe or New Mexico will do, but we’re going to need more than that. The one bright spot about this whole thing is with such an early shoot, some footage may be shown at next year’s Comic-Con, similar to how they did this year with Iron Man 2.
Jon Favreau and his crew had just finished wrapping the film a week or two prior to Comic-Con and were able to scrounge up decent amount of jaw dropping footage for the audience. Thor stars Chris Hemsworth as the title character, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, and Anthony Hopkins as his dad, Odin. There’s so much that could go wrong with this film, so lets hope they produce it the right way.
What do you think about Thor’s production schedule?
