For a moment there one might forget that Sylvester Stallone plans on making another Rambo movie, which we’ve been tentatively calling Rambo 5. Over at AICN, they’ve posted an update from the man himself regarding the overall theme for the new film, that has slightly changed since the beginning of its development.
Over at StalloneZone, one of the forum’s frequent users got a message from Sly regarding a change of plans for Rambo‘s original story. From what we’ve gathered, the premise had something to do with Sly going against a genetically engineered creature of some sort, but that’s no longer the case. Here’s what Stallone supposedly released on the board.
This is from Sly to your followers:
To all the loyal SZoners out there,
I’m letting you know that Rambo has changed course and the story about hunting the man/beast will be done using another character in the lead. RAMBO himself will be heading over the border to a violent city where many young women have vanished .
There will be blood.
OK, so Sly wants to go hunt for the ladies as opposed to a man-beast? At least he’s being honest, even though it’s not clear if this will be the Mexican storyline that was rumored a while back. The whole idea of there being another film in this series is obviously gratuitous, it’s a cash cow and they want to milk it. On the other hand, there are die hard Rambo fans who want to see somewhat of a decent story in the movie, even if it is coated in blood.
What do you think about the Rambo script change?
