Ashley Greene might not be the star of the whole Twilight phenomenon, but the young actress is determined to make a name for herself. According to Variety, Greene is in talks to star in The Apparition, a thriller for Joel Silver’s production company, Dark Castle.

With a franchise of good-looking vampires under her belt, Greene is making the leap into something a little less fictitious. The Apparition is a story inspired by actual events in which a young couple is haunted by a supernatural presence unleashed during a college experiment.

Greene, who plays Robert Pattison’s sister Alice Cullen, in the popular vampire franchise hasn’t starred in any other movies, so The Apparition would mark her leading role debut. Production for the film starts February 1st with commercial and first time feature film director Todd Lincoln at the helm.

Lincoln has also directed a few music videos for bands such as Punks In The Beerlight and Lucky Pool. His commercial experience could either really help him or sabotage him. As we’ve seen in the past, some directors successfully use their commercial background  (Wes Anderson, Spike Jonze) and others not so much (Michael Bay).
