I was appalled with the introduction. It just demonstrates what a sick nation America is. It is racist to its rotten core. I mean, at the very beginning you have a white brigadier calling out to his black ajutant by surname which happens to be BOON. Come on, how fucked up is that? I just got the movie out on DVD. It made more sense to me than any war film I have ever watched. The humour was sublime and the serious points hit bullseye. A very cleverly written and superbly performed film.
