It's a complete fiction. There is no Dr. Tyler, the "authentic" footage is fake. Don't you think we would have seen this footage on youtube before this if it were real? The whole thing is a well-done story, but it's purely Science FIction!

now i absoultly agree that its neive to think we are the only ones in the universe but I personally will no believe intel i see it. so that is not say it is or is not real but you shouldnt just knock it down all together and on the other hand the fourth kind was a great movie , good actors/actress but its is Fake and that is what i believe. – Frank Perna age 15

Of course most of this movie is not real. it is just to make the movie scarier and more entertaining. if they only based the movie on the facts, then you would probably think the movie was boaring. So overall no the big bug eyed alien thing isnt real, but it might be possible for the actual tapes and voice recordings to be real. So yes i believe this movie is BASED on a true story not the whole thing is true.

are you all that neive to think we're the only ones in the universe? hmmm? seriously open a book. any thing is possible. the footage was seriously…. haunting. Just the pure terror in the actual footage was amazing… a great movie. it really keeps you thinking!

Major disappointment. As someone who is typically frightened by the concept of Alien abduction and recoils at the sight of Greys, the movie barely made a hair tingle. I was expecting a scare, and wound up with a bore.

Do you guys really believe that footage was real? Seriously? Think about it for a second and then decide. A truly creepy and well done movie, but far from reality.

It really makes you think. Are there aliens or not? So many suposed sightings, are they all coming from people with good imaginations or what?

Great movie! Combining the real footage was a great touch. I though it was well done, especially for such an outrageous concept. I would certainly recommend this movie!
