Johnny Depp vs Angelina Jolie in The Tourist?
How many casting and creative shake ups can one movie take? Charlize Theron and Sam Worthington were originally set to star opposite one another in The Tourist, with Bharat Nalluri set to direct. The next thing you know, Theron’s out and is replaced by Angelina Jolie, then Nalluri’s out and is replaced by Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck, who has since left and now Worthington has jumped ship right along with him. There’s only one person who can save this train wreck, Mr. Johnny Depp.
According to Variety, Depp is in talks to star opposite Angelina Jolie in a role that was recently vacated by Terminator Salvation star, Sam Worthington. He will play an American tourist drawn into a web of intrigue and danger by a female Interpol agent (Jolie) as she attempts to locate a criminal who was once her lover. Both Worthington and Von Donnersmarck left the film over creative differences.
Now that the director’s chair is once again vacant, Sony already has several people in mind to takeover the job including Alfonso Cuaron. The news of Depp’s involvement comes completely out of left field, because his next expected project was supposed to be Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. The actor was brought into The Tourist loop via his relationship with one of the film’s producers, Graham King, whom Depp worked with on The Rum Diary.
The combination of Depp and Jolie seems like a match made in heaven. They both have a lot of charisma and a strong onscreen presence, plus cheekbones to die for. This is seriously one of those incidents where you won’t be able to keep your eyes off the screen. Nothing against Worthington, but at least now we won’t have to hear him struggle to put on an American accent, we can just get the real deal.

Johnny Depp would be ok for this genre of movies, but an army of ANGELINA’s fans still hopes that ATLAS SHRUGGED with her as Dagny will be made. That would be simply perfect.
Add to that DANIEL DAY- LEWIS & I could die!!! They would make the best onscreen couple ever, they are the best.

I hope Johnny Depp does not take this role. He is too good of an actor to be paired with "no talent Jolie". She can only play one role, and that's herself. You have to wonder why so many people are jumping ship on this film. Something tells me she's doing the same thing that she tried to do with "Atlas Shrugged" and that's have them change the script so much until the writer and directors left the project. They'll probably have to put this one on hold again because of her interference.

I don't know. I mean that sometimes changes are giving upcoming movie a boost that is needed to make great picture, even better. And I'm also a huge fan of Johny Depp, so i think that those changes can bring only good. In the other way sometimes rapid changes makes movie drilled with hundreds of logical holes and I hope that all of those changes will have only positive effect.

Johnny is and has always been ONE OF THE GREATEST ACTORS EVER!
And as far as Angelina is concerned I KNOW she's A GREAT ACTRESS TOO!! People believe what magazines say (about her) and that' s why there are so many of these unpleasant negative comments made about her, I'm totally disappointed with you people. I DO NOT care about her personal life I just watch her movies and I can say she is great in everything she does and so is Johnny. So this movie with these two certainly can't be a flop!!! Plus, I believe Johnny, he's very selective in the movies he does and if he decides to do this movie, it has a reason, a very good one for him. So it is a reason good enough for me to watch it!

(Btw, I'm sure they'll have a perfect chemistry on screen!
