[...] The idea of “Hope for Haiti” stemmed from George Clooney and the MTV Networks, who wanted to immediately jump into action after seeing all the devastation that occurred in the country. It’s not known if Pattinson’s Twilight co-stars Taylor Lautner or Kristen Stewart will make an appearance on the telethon, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they did. They need to tap into that teen audience and their disposable income and encourage them to use their money for something else besides Twilight dolls. [...]

I enjoyed the books....and I enjoyed the movie (and will probably equally enjoy the new one), but I'm just not sure about dolls....seems odd to me. I suppose if they're marketed as strictly collector dolls, then they're fine, but I know that in MY local stores, they're sitting right up with the rest of the dolls that little girls play with and I don't know that I'd like to see a naked Edward doll laying on my 7 year old's floor.

$49.99 is the two doll set. Unbelievable how such a trashy, poorly-written series became popular.

I think it's great that now the preschool set can act out scenes in a movie of a book that's all about the connection between sex, romance, and violence. And Bella's such a great role model: she dates a guy who may kill her, but she's willing to risk her life anyway because he's so gosh-darn "beautiful". I'm gonna rush right out and get my neice one so she can keep up with her peers in desensitizing herself to sexual violence. After all, since 4 out of 5 girls will experience some form of sexual violence before they're 18, maybe this will help to convince her that most of it is just the way it's supposed to be. And since the book is written for a 10 year-old sensibility, so when she's seven or eight and can read them independently, I can buy her the book. Or hell, I might as well spring for the whole trashy boxed set.
