Now that it’s November, we can officially say next month James Cameron’s Avatar will be in theaters. You can expect the film marketing to get a lot heavier as we near the release date, and the media onslaught has already begun. Another behind the scenes Avatar featurette has been released in promotion of the movie and it includes new interviews with Cameron, Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, and more.
Check out the video…
Avatar is going to be a film of epic proportions and it’s no surprise that all the work that’s gone into it is being called “revolutionary.” When listening to the actor’s speak about the film, they sound like they’ve been a part of history in the making. In the video, you get a quick introduction of where the idea for Avatar came from, and how long it took James Cameron to get it to where it is today.
Prior to this video, the plot for the film was a vague outline that included a man transporting from his physically handicapped human body to an alien Na’vi vessel that had been synthetically grown. In the featurette they explain that Jake Sully had a twin brother who died while working on Pandora, the Na’vi’s home planet. By being a twin, his DNA is closely linked, so he can be used as his brother’s replacement. As December 18th approaches, perhaps more information will be revealed from this mysterious plot, but until then this is all we’ve got.
