paper heart dvd

Earlier this summer, Charlyne Yi‘s romantic “documentary” Paper Heart was all the rage. The film was a Sundance darling and earned accolades from all over the festival circuit. Yi not only stars but co-wrote the film along with Nicholas Jasenovec who also directed the movie. Paper Heart features several familiar faces, but most prominently highlights the appearance of Michael Cera. If you were a fan of the film in theaters you’ll love all the extras that will be included on the upcoming DVD.

Here’s the basic premise of the film:

Charlyne Yi does not believe in love.  Or so she says.  Well, at the very least, she doesn’t believe in fairy-tale love or the Hollywood mythology of love, and her own experiences have turned her into yet another modern-day skeptic.

Follow Charlyne across America as she and her good friend (and director) Nicholas Jasenovec search for answers and advice about love, by talking with friends and strangers, scientists, bikers, romance novelists, and children.  They each offer diverse views on modern romance, as well as various answers to the age-old question: does true love really exist?

The DVD will be available in traditional and Blu-ray formats starting Tuesday, December 1st. Standard retail price is $29.98 for the DVD and $39.98 for the Blu-ray edition, which will probably be significantly lower when it’s actually released. A lot of major stores give you a good sale price during the first week a DVD becomes available.

The Paper Heart DVD and Blu-ray bonus features include Paper Heart Uncut; “The Making of Paper Heart”; live musical performances by Charlyne Yi; “Heaven” music video by Charlyne Yi and Michael Cera; love interviews with the comedians; and deleted scenes.

Will you be picking up a copy of Paper Heart when it’s released?
