More casting news to report from the upcoming Facebook film entitled, The Social Network. The David Fincher production already features Justin Timberlake, Jesse Eisenberg, and Andrew Garfield as the main characters in the adaptation based on the book, The Accidental Billionaires: The Founding of Facebook, a Tale of Sex, Money, Genius and Betrayal. It appears that six more actors have joined the cast, and for the most part they’re all under 25.
In The Social Network, Jesse Eisenberg and Andrew Garfield will play Facebook co-founders Mark Zuckerberg and Eduardo Saverin, while Timberlake will star as Sean Parker, the co-founder of Napster and the founding president of the site. Now, here’s the latest casting rundown:
“Rehearsals began yesterday for The Social Network. The ensemble cast includes Jesse Eisenberg, Andrew Garfield, Justin Timberlake, Max Minghella, Rooney Mara, Dakota Johnson, Brenda Song, Armie Hammer, Josh Pence and about 20 others to come. Shooting begins Oct. 19th in Cambridge, MA.”
The fact that there’s more to come, scares me. In an interesting twist, one of these actors will be pulling double duty as a set of twins. Hammer will star as the Winklevoss twins. The men who reportedly came up with the idea for ConnectU, the project Zuckerberg was hired to work on before starting up Facebook. This cast is starting to get out of control.
What do you think of the expanding cast for The Social Network?
