Vin Diesel Not Returning for XXX 3?

Vin Diesel burst onto the scene back in the late nineties with supporting roles in Saving Private Ryan and Boiler Room, before making his mark as a leading man in 2001 with The Fast and the Furious. From that point on he was a box office success, headlining such films as 2002’s XXX, which spawned another action packed franchise. Even though he didn’t return for the second film in the series, there had been word that the actor would reprise his character, Xander Cage for the third. According to CineFOOLS, that might not be the case.
Here’s the scoop from CineFOOLS:
We have exclusive news, from a trusted source, that Vin Diesel has dropped out of XXX 3. There is no word why Diesel has dropped out but I can only guess that it has something to do with Rob Cohen no longer directing the film or perhaps the rumored Riddick sequel is actually ready to roll?
Personally, I don’t care if he jumps ship from this movie or not, but the action genre is his bread and butter. We’ve seen what happens when he tries to stray away from it, (box office poison). Even though this comes from a “trusted source,” I don’t understand why he would turn down this film yet reprise his role in Fast & Furious, which Cohen didn’t return to direct. What’s so so different?
What do you think of Vin Diesel possibly dropping out of XXX 3?

Maybe he didn't like the script.
