So many developments have been made regarding Spider-Man 4 and the pending Venom sequel, and director Sam Raimi is opening up about his involvement with the next two films in the series. As previously announced, Sony plans on producing a new trilogy of Spidey films and MTV recently spoke to Raimi about whether or not he’ll return to direct the movies in question.
Just because the studio wants to do more films, doesn’t mean that Raimi will automatically be on board. Here’s what he had to say regarding his involvement with Spider-Man 5 and 6.
Every time I make one of the ‘Spider-Man’ movies, I have to ask myself, is the character still intriguing to me?” Raimi told MTV News. “Do I love the character? Am I dying to tell the next story of Peter Parker and Spider-Man? And so far the answer has been yes,” he said.
Pretty much, only time will tell if he returns or not. What else is there left for him to do? Not to be a Negative Nancy, but I’m not particularly excited about this confirmed film he’s already set to direct. The only reason I’m giving Spider-Man 4 a small shot is because the third film turned out to be such an abomination. This is the franchises one and only chance for redemption in my eyes.
Do you think Sam Raimi should direct all the films in the Spider-Man franchise?
