After the release of the theatrical trailer for Me and Orson Welles it would only be a matter of time before the first official poster dropped. Over at Cinematical, they’ve premiered the one sheet that features Zac Efron, Claire Danes, and Christopher McKay. The film is an adaptation of the Robert Kaplow novel of the same name. It centers on a 17 year old (Efron), who has landed a part in a 1937 production of Julius Caesar, which is directed by a young Orson Welles.

I don’t mean to be picky, but is it just me or does this poster make Claire Danes look a lot older than necessary? I understand her character in the film is supposed to be the “older woman,” but she’s barely 30. Other than that I’m getting a Michael Jackson’s This is It vibe. With the images placed inside the silhouette of the film’s star, it comes off as eerie. I trust Richard Linklater, so I’ll let this poster slide, but the trailer did the film better justice than this.

What do you think of the poster for Me and Orson Welles?

You say Danes is supposed to be "the older woman." In the book this is taken from, she was 19.

My first reaction when I heard she'd been cast was, "Isn't she too OLD?"

But maybe they're not following the book exactly.
