First Trailer of Mel Gibson in Edge of Darkness
By Krystal Clark
A trailer has finally been released for Martin Campbell‘s latest film, Edge of Darkness. The film stars Mel Gibson as a former Boston detective whose daughter is murdered, causing him to take matters into his own hands by searching for her killer. The screenplay was written by Oscar winning scribe William Monahan (The Departed), and looks like a worthy follow up to his previous work.

The cast for this film is filled with talent such as Ray Winstone and Danny Huston. Being that Monahan is a Boston native I’m going to let the fact that the majority of his films take place there slide. As long as the quality continues to stay high like The Departed, he can represent Beantown as long as he likes. It’s good to see some old school vigilante Mel Gibson. I’m happy to see him in front of the camera again.
Edge of Darkness gets released on January 29th, 2010

Looks awesome but the January release date has me worried.

You should be worried – January is a "dumping" month for studios to release a movie that has no
real potential (too early for Oscars and it's after the holidays). It just shows that this movie is a DUD!
And it will save them a ton of money for the free promo they will get when Mel's GF gives birth (finally!)
in December (watch out for baby pix in "People" mag.)
