Earlier today, we brought you the official theatrical trailer for Toy Story 3, and now we’ve got another update to share. The film’s director Lee Unkrich recently posted a video giving a few updates regarding the re-release of Toy Story 1 and 2, as well as more casting announcements from the third film.
There were several announcements made, and here’s the breakdown.
- The Toy Story/Toy Story 2 double feature, originally intended as a two-week run, will be extended. He doesn’t specify how long, so it’s open ended at the moment.
- Kristen Schaal, the comedienne/actress best known for her work as Mel on Flight of the Conchords, will voice a new character in Toy Story 3, but Unkrich didn’t reveal a name.
- The late Jim Varney‘s replacement as the voice of Slinky will be stand up comedian Blake Clark, who’s best known as a character actor in Adam Sandler movies.
- Here’s a piece of news that will tug at your heart strings. John Morris, who originally voiced little Andy, will be back to reprise the grown up role.
Darn you Disney for making me even more invested in this film! Once I heard they were bringing back John Morris, I knew this movie was the real deal.
