I hope this latest casting news isn’t true, but it comes from a pretty reliable source. According to THR, Jessica Alba is in talks to star in Little Fockers the follow up to the highly successful Meet the Fockers and Meet the Parents. Alba will join the cast which features the original players, Ben Stiller, Teri Polo, Blythe Danner, and Robert De Niro.
In a not so shocking turn, Alba’s character is described as “an attractive pharmaceutical rep whose looks wreak havoc on male characters in the story.” So much for her trying to stretch as an actress. The third installment of the series will be directed by Paul Weitz from a script written by John Hamburg. The film will focus on the offspring of Gaylord and Pam Focker, with no confirmation as to how many children they will actually have.
Universal is distributing the film that’s scheduled to start production within the next few months. The release date for Little Fockers is expected for sometime next year. I used to actually like the Meet the Parents franchise, but with the latest addition to the cast I may have to adjust my tastes.
What do you think about Jessica Alba joining the cast?
