All valid posts. If Disney is testing the "waters" so to speak, of a Johnny less Pirates, they are idiots. They didn't want him from day 1, but Johnny became their gravy train for Pirates. He is Jack Sparrow. NO other actor can replace him. I for one would never see another Pirates without Johnny. I love the irony that the iconic actor works for Disney.
The downside of sequels is matching the popularity and success of the firs movie. It's the director, producer, writers, and actors coming together with a chemistry that makes it work along with the timing.. I loved P1, but didn't like P2, and P3 is my favorite. The ending of At World's End definitely had the makings for P4.
Seriously, how many can they make before it becomes banal?Johnny is a man of integrity and will keep to his word, but if he's unhappy, he will find a way to make that come across on the screen. Very subtle, but there.
Johnny, take the money and run! Disney needs you!

I have enjoyed the POTC trilogy. When the movie first came out I was a fan of the ride first and foremost. The movie was something new and different with "Jack Sparrow". Everyone was hooked immediatly to his character. I dont believe Johnny Depp/ Jack Sparrow can be replaced with any other acter. Johnny Depp made that character his own. However just as they revealed the character Jack Sparrow to the world, I am open to a new character in future movies. I dont like change but the movie industry never seems to surprise me with new ideas and characters. I believe that Disney realizes that its going to have to be a major twist and a great character/actor to go a different route with the series. Just keep an open mind and make judgement if or when that happens.

I am so happy to now know that johnny depp WILL be returning as captain jack sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. Maybe after johnny depp finishes filming Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, he'll fell much more enthusiasic about wanting to return for the role as Captain Jack Sparrow, in Pirates of the Caribbean 5 and Pirates of the Caribbean 6. He will certainly do it for all the younger viewrs out there who love the Pirate Captain Jack Sparrow, I for one am obsessed with The Character Captain Jack Sparrow and The Pirates of the Caribbean Movies. I think that Pirates of the Caribbean Movies are infact the best disney movies that walt disney pictures has ever made, i also think that this jerry bruckheimer best movies hes ever been the producer of and i even think that even though johnny depp has had some really good movies in the past that hes starred in, i think that the pirates of the caribbean movies are his best yet that hes been in as captain jack sparrow!.
