A few weeks ago we reported on a casting rumor regarding David Fincher‘s upcoming film, The Social Network. The feature is an adaptation of Ben Mezrich’s book The Accidental Billionaires: The Founding of Facebook, a Tale of Sex, Money, Genius and Betrayal. According to Variety, those rumors were rooted in truth and Jesse Eisenberg, Justin Timberlake, and Andrew Garfield have all been confirmed for roles in the film.
In The Social Network, Jesse Eisenberg and Andrew Garfield will play Facebook co-founders Mark Zuckerberg and Eduardo Saverin, while Justin Timberlake will star as Sean Parker, the co-founder of Napster and the founding president of the site. The screenplay for The Social Network was penned by award winning writer Aaron Sorkin, and production on the film is slated to begin next month in Boston. The film will be produced and distributed by Columbia Pictures, Scott Rudin, and Kevin Spacey.
Something about Justin Timberlake’s casting in this film is off putting. A lot of people say his acting isn’t that bad, but I beg to differ. I do believe being a part of a Fincher film will help him take his talent to the next level. Hopefully, with the right direction he can become a stronger actor, because at the moment he’s not that great.
What do you think of the finalized cast for The Social Network?
