The first major casting besides Milla Jovovich has been made for the fourth installment of the Resident Evil franchise. There have been so many rumors regarding who will appear in the next film, and this sounds like our first confirmation. According to actor Boris Kodjoe‘s Twitter account, he will star alongside Jovovich in Resident Evil: Afterlife.
Here is the message that Kodjoe left on his official Twitter page announcing his involvement in the film.
In Toronto meeting with the director of my new movie ‘Resident Evil: Afterlife’ Very exciting!!! Lots of stunts, shooting guns, monsters…
Sounds like someone is excited. Kodjoe has been on a winning streak this past year after scoring a role in the upcoming Bruce Willis film, Surrogates. Now, director Paul W.S. Anderson has scooped him up to star in Afterlife.
If you’ve been following my coverage of the film, you know that I am less than enthused about the whole thing. There has been so much talk about this revival of the franchise, but I never thought it was great series to begin with. I enjoyed the first film, and the second was passable, but the third was horrible. Maybe the fourth time is a charm?
Resident Evil: Afterlife is scheduled for release on August 27, 2010.
