Casino Royale star Eva Green has been cast as the female lead in David Mackenzie‘s Last Word alongside Scottish-actor Ewan McGregor, according to ScreenDaily. The story of the film centers on two people who fall in love as the world around them begins to fall apart. Sounds deep as well as depressing.
Mackenzie’s latest film is Spread, starring Punk’d star Ashton Kutcher, about a serial womanizer (Kutcher) stuck in a love triangle with a middle-aged lawyer and a hot waitress. But not to worry, sex-comedies aren’t all Mackenzie has under his belt. In 2003, he wrote and directed the drama Young Adam (also starring McGregor) about an amoral young drifter who gets more than he bargained for.
What could make Last Word a good and possibly great film is the cast. With the French actress as the lead, McGregor at her side, and an amazing supporting cast including Connie Nielsen from Gladiator, Trainspotting veteran Ewen Bremner, and British actor Stephen Dillane, Last Word looks a lot more promising than Spread.
What do you think of Eva Green and Ewan McGregor teaming up for Last Word?
