It’s been a while since we’ve heard anything about the action flick Battle: Los Angeles. The biggest piece of news regarding the film had to do with the casting of Aaron Eckhart as its lead. According to THR months later, six more actors have joined the film with R&B singer-songwriter Ne-Yo leading the pack.
Some of the latest casting additions to the film include Transformers Revenge of the Fallen alum Ramon Rodriguez, Taylor Handley, Cory Hardrict, Jadin Gould, Bryce Cass, and Joey King. The current roster already includes Michelle Rodriguez, Michael Pena, and Bridget Moynahan. Battle: Los Angeles is an upcoming sci-fi film that will be directed by Jonathan Liebesman.
Ne-Yo will star as a corporal in the platoon led by Eckhart’s character. Rodriguez, Handley and Hardrict are members of the platoon fighting the invading aliens, while Cass, Gould and King are kids trapped in a community center. Production on the film is scheduled to begin this week in Shreveport, Louisiana.
Ne-Yo has had small parts in a few other features, most notably Stomp the Yard. His acting isn’t that bad, and he has a natural charisma that plays well in front of the camera. Hopefully, Ramon’s acting has improved after his stint in Transformers, because he was one of the (many) reasons I hated that movie.
What do you think of Ne-Yo starring opposite Aaron Eckhart in Battle: Los Angeles?
