Because he spends few days with Chavez and Evo it doesn't mean he knows exactly what is going on. If he really wanted to know how things are going, he just had to stay in Caracas walking the streets and asking people how things are going... of course any president is going to give you a wonderful view of theur country. I lived in Caracas for many years and I know what it used to look like... Chavez with his Revolution (or how they call it Robolucion / from the work Robar = steal) is finishing with Venezuela little by little. Why Mr. Stone doesn't say in the movie that while he gives to Bolivia US$ 3 Billions (yes, 3,000,000,000.00) he doesn't invest on infrastructure... or why he is giving daily 150K barrels of oil to Cuba (that means US$ 10M/day) while the public hospitals, schools and public services are worst every day (water shortages, power failures as a result of poor and damaged infrastructure). I know the press here in the US changes the truth, but people like Stone doesn't (or doesn't want) to see the reality from all points of view.. Mr Stone, please buy a nice house in Caracas and stay living for 1 year and then if you are still alive by then, I will like to hear your story... Months later, in one of the most daring military operations that the Colombian government made, they were able to gather intelligence that proves that HUGO CHAVEZ supports one of the most notorious Narco Guerrillas groups in South America, which is the FARC. Any one that has lived or has family in Colombia or Venezuela could tell you the great things of our countries but also could tell you how horrible HUGA CHAvez is. Check out "CARACAS Nine" the movie, and see that is not the US that is saying that Chavez is a dictador and bad one for that matter.
