First Avatar Teaser Trailer
By Krystal Clark![]()
I have seriously been thrown for a loop. All this time I was expecting the first teaser for James Cameron’s Avatar to hit the net this weekend, and it’s already here! Believe me, it’s not a bad thing to wake up to, especially if your one of those people who have seen absolutely nothing but fuzzy images from the movie.
Avatar stars Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver, Michelle Rodriguez, Giovanni Ribisi, and Laz Alonso. You can view the video below.
Now that you’ve finally seen the trailer, tell us what you think! We have an official poll posted that asks fans Does Cameron’s Avatar Trailer Live Up to the Hype? Click the link and let us know.
Avatar centers on an ex-Marine who submerges himself into the culture of an alien race. With the help of his Avatar body, he is able to adapt to his new environment even though he’s still present in his human mind. Jake Sully is the lead character as played by Worthington, while Saldana is featured as his love interest, Neyteri. Since tomorrow is Avatar Day, I expect more coverage and footage to pop up online at some point. Until then, this teaser should tide you over.
Avatar will be in theaters December 18th.

Why exactly is this movie so hyped? It's been mentioned on this site every week or so and I've always been curious if this is supposed to be a seminal project or something. The trailer wasn't bad, but is all the hype because it's by a guy who directed a more than decade old movie?

I think it looks absolutely wonderful (in the truest meaning of the word), I wait impatiently for december to arrive… Cameron should only be allowed to work in the sci-fi genre. Beautiful.

[...] Due to the nature of the film’s situation Cameron even agreed to defer his payment until the studio and others were compensated. Everyone involved with this movie is taking a gamble, there’s no other way to put it. Nothing guarantees that fans will come out to see the movie for anything other than to support the director. Where’s the major draw? It’s definitely not in the amazing special effects, because they clearly can’t be seen in the trailers. [...]
