I think the writer must be commenting on the screen play and not the book because nothing happens to Edward in the end of the book. However, it has been rumored that RPattz has asked that Edward be killed off at the end of Eclipse to get him out of the whole Twilight crazyiness. As much as i love Robert Pattinson as Edward i hope this isn't true. I would rather see the series finished with a different actor than not finished at all.
