Gordon Gekko’s daughter has been cast in the upcoming Wall Street sequel, Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps. According to Yahoo News, Carey Mulligan will star opposite Shia Labeouf in the film where she will be featured as his love interest. Her face looks vaguely familiar to me, that’s probably because I’ve seen her pop up in the Keira Knightley version of Pride and Prejudice.
More on Mulligan after the jump…
Mulligan is a British actress who’s only been acting in film since 2005. Even though she’s had supporting roles in many of her projects, Wall Street will be her first step into the spot light. She will be starring alongside Frank Langella and of course Michael Douglas as her infamous dad, while Josh Brolin is still in talks for a role in the movie. The script was written by Allan Loeb, and will once again be directed by Oliver Stone. Wall Street 2 is scheduled to start production this fall in September.
I’ve heard some good things about Ms. Mulligan’s performance in the upcoming indie flick An Education. Sony Pictures Classics won’t release it until October 9th, well after the ball has started rolling on this film. I wonder what she did in her audition to beat out hundreds of actresses for the role? You know for a fact, women were beating down the casting directors door for this part. Hopefully she won’t disappoint.
