Here’s another video game adaptation for your viewing pleasure. According to IESB, the Eidos Interactive game Just Cause is next in line to hit the big screen. Producer Adrian Askarieh has been given the go ahead to develop a live action movie based on the character described as the “Latin Jason Bourne.”
Askarieh has already left several video game adaptations in his wake including 2007′s Hitman (a film that didn’t do that great). Just Cause centers on a C.I.A. agent but the name of Rico Rodriguez, code name The Scorpion. He’s one of the few characters in the video game world who is of Latin decent, and he’s not to be messed with. He’s a short description of the man, the myth, and the legend.
“The child of one thousand comic books and action movies peoples. He is James Bond, Mad Max, Jason Bourne, El Mariachi, Wolverine, Punisher, Rambo, Tony Montana and Han Solo all rolled into one. With a touch of Enrique Iglesias to top it all off!”
After reading that, perhaps I need to pick up a copy of this game! From what I’ve heard, out of all the non-stop action this game has to offer, a lot of stuff has to be done with a parachute. Through my research I keep noticing a common complaint about this guy and his constant need to jump out or off of stuff. I wonder how they will incorporate that into the film?
Are you a fan of Just Cause? Do you think they should make a film? Most importantly, what’s with all the parachutes?
