With the sad news of the death of John Hughes, I started to think about all the actors who worked with him and realized that it wasn’t that big of a group. Much like Judd Apatow does now, Hughes liked to work with a lot of the same people over and over again. Molly Ringwald, John Candy, and many more became a star because of multiple appearances in Hughes’ films.

Candy starred in a grand total of EIGHT Hughes films including: Vacation (1983), Trains, Planes & Automobiles (1987), The Great Outdoors (1988), Having a Baby (1988), Uncle Buck (1989), Home Alone (1990), Career Oppurtunities (1990), and Only the Lonely (1991).
