Wow. It really is the end of the 80’s. First MJ and now we’ve just heard that sad news that Writer, Director, Producer John Hughes known for such classic 80’s films as The Breakfast Club, Pretty in Pink, Sixteen Candles and Ferris Bueller’s Day Off has died of a heart attack.

According to TMZ, “Hughes suffered the heart attack while taking a morning walk during a trip to NYC to visit family.” He was only 59 years old.

He was a man who brought smiles to many and in a way defined 80’s cinema. Would life be the same without Ferris Bueller? I think not. It’s rare that a Director has so many hits that resonate so strongly with audiences some 20 years later.

We’ll report more as they story develops. But until then, below is a clip from quite possibly one of his greatest moments in film that was made by Hughes…

He will be missed.

Damn, this is a loss. His movies basically ruined my teenage love life because I thought high school romance would be that grandoise (it isn't, in case you're wondering). But I'm older now, and can appreciate his films for being witty, silly, sweet and just all around good. RIP John Hughes.
