Yet another movie that makes you wonder who the hell is deciding what gets made and what doesn’t. Tucker Max wrote a book he called I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell and published it in 2006. The book managed to make the New York Best Seller’s list for three years in a row and now it is being turned into a movie. The film is directed by Bob Gosse and stars: Matt Czuchry as Tucker, Jessie Bradford & Geoff Stults as his best friends (Drew and Dan, respectively) and Traci Lords as Dan’s fiance.
Watching the trailer, you can’t help but think, okay, this looks like a fun 10 minute webisode, but a whole movie?

Apparently tits, ass and booze are enough. What makes it worse is the fact that it is based on a true story. It’s reminiscent of The Hangover but without (dare I say) the same amount of intelligence behind the film. It takes a lot of smarts to do stupid well, and I have yet to be convinced that this film has what it takes.
The film will be released September 25th.
What did you think of the tailer? Does it make you want to go out and watch the movie when it comes out?
