jackman Hugh Jackman is the Avon Man

Hugh Jackman is a talented actor who can jump from drama, to action, to a musical or comedy with confidence and ease. He’s done it all, and for his upcoming project he’s going to once again tap into his comedic side. According to Variety, Jackman has just signed on to star in the film, Avon Man. The title refers to the long running cosmetics company that is typically marketed to the female consumer. The film stems from a pitch by Kevin Bisch, who was the writer behind the successful Will Smith comedy, Hitch.

Not only will Jackman star in Avon Man, but he will also co-produce it along with his Seeds Production banner. The film centers on a group of men who are laid off from their jobs at a local car dealership. In an attempt to generate some type of income one of them reluctantly decides to become an Avon salesman. Initially he’s uncomfortable with the position but he soon begins to flourish in the field by using his charm and good looks to become one of the companies top sellers. The film is quoted as having a “Full Monty” vibe to it, when the man convinces some of his small town buddies to join a regional contest in order to support his struggling family.

Avon Man will be produced by 20th Century Fox, and the script will be written by Bisch. The pitch was acquired for a healthy six-figures, which was brokered by WME. I’ve seen Jackman do comedy so I’m not surprised that he would take on a role such as this. He’s a likable guy who appeals to both the male and female audience, so this film could possibly become a commercial success. Let’s see what happens with the developing screenplay, shall we?

What do you think about Hugh Jackman playing a Avon Man?

It will be an amusing film. One dramatic side and one funny side: two faces of the same charmining medal. Only the true actors dare always play different roles in their career and Jackman it is a true actor

I hope they don't make too big of a joke out of it. If they don't,,I think this will be great for business!!

It's a shame they are touting a company that is aiming to rip off the women of our country by Avon's change to become a Multi-Level Marketing Pyramid Scam. I hope they show that it is only thru recruiting that Avon generates a check. And even then they try to get out of it. Parasitic company that bleeds women dry, or worse, puts them in debt. See mlm-thetruth.com. I really hope they change the title.

Lets hope it portrays Avon well. for the comments of the 'guest' up there, what totally ignorant, and totally wrong comments there! Unbelieveable really!
As a top seller, and now a top sales leader, having worked on behalf of Avon for a lot of years I can only imagine that the above person knows someone who has moaned about Avon. Woman (and men) get themselves into debt, and if anyone found that they weren't earning a profit, then why do it? I have hundreds of team members into profit, some a vast profit. Avon does not bleed women dry or put them in debit, totally ridiculous!

I totally agree with the above comment. This is a fortune 500 company, in business for 123 years and serving the public with great pride. I have been in business myself for 17 years and earn a full time living building and serving customers. The only way anyone earns profits in this business is from serving customers and fulfilling their purchasing needs, I am proud to say that I not only earn on the sales of products but also earn through helping others start their journey in building their business. Please ignore the above "guest's" comments about bashing such an upstanding company as Avon! I am appauled and must stand up for what I know is true through and through.

    And I agree, too.
I like Avon! Great products and service. A company with a good reputation and rightly so!
If "guests" friend got into debt, and bled dry I think perhaps they were doing something wrong.

Wow! Someone is bitter! I've been selling Avon for four years, Unit Leader for three and am in the top three sellers in my district. Those whom I have seen that have left Avon and been bitter like that are people who aren't responsible for their accounts. It's simple math: order the products the customer requests, get billed at a DISCOUNT, charge the customer the amount in the brochure (along with any discount you want to give personally from your profits). You SHOULD collect more money then what is due; pay Avon, THEN pay yourself. Most of those who pay themselves first will fall into the trap of not having the money when the bill is due. Avon has never gotten money from me that I didn't already owe, so how could they bleed me dry? I had to claim taxes last year because I made more then I bought from Avon, the who premise of having your own business! PROFITS! They are out there, you just have to run your business with dedication, honesty, integrity and dependable. I will step off my soapbox now!
