Zooey Deschanel Joins Cast of Your Highness

Zooey Deschanel has joined the cast of David Gordon Green‘s latest project, Your Highness, which already includes Danny McBride, James Franco, and Natalie Portman. Deschanel to play the role of Belladonna, the bride of James Franco. The story is about an entitled prince (Danny McBride) and his brother (James Franco) who are sent on a mission to save their father’s kingdom from an evil wizard. Natalie Portman plays a warrior princess and the love interest of Danny McBride.
Zooey Deschanel is very cute and seems like she would mesh well with the rest of the cast. But there might be a few issues, and sorry to say this, but the title sounds lame and uninspired. All of these actors, while entertaining, have a very predictable acting method. I have a pretty good image of how each character will play their role. Another issue is how much stoner humor will be in the movie, as we are dealing with the guys from Pineapple Express. How will they blend the fantasy, period-piece genre with a group of individuals that generally do the stoner-comedy genre.
Perhaps they will change things up a bit and surprise audiences? What do you think?

I think they'll work it out. The cast sounds amazing: two of my favorite young actress' are in this movie and two of my favorite actors. McBride and Franco, c'mon, this is a cast set in laughter heaven. But even if the fantasy turns out to be funny, what's wrong with that?
