We heard that Warner Bros had bought most of Midway Games’ assets, including the hit game Mortal Kombat, but are they already moving forward with it? Last night, Firstshowing was sent a random link, from a small California newspaper SGV Tribune saying that the former actor and karate teacher Chris Casamassa, who played Scorpion in the original two Mortal Kombat movies was getting ready to start filming a third movies by the end of this year. What?!
Check out what the SGV newspaper said below…
He just drops into the conversation….
“According to Casamassa he’s set to start filming the third Mortal Kombat film in September…”
This just makes no sense. If this was really happening the SGV Tribune would not be the first to know. And even if this was true, does anyone even want another Mortal Kombat movie? Video game movies have not been fairing well at the box office lately. Neither Street Fight: The Legend of Chun-Li or even Max Payne were well received by critics or movie-goers, so I don’t see why the WB would be so anxious to get this thing off the ground.
At the moment I’m calling this a big fat rumor until I find something more solid.
Would you like to see a Mortal Kombat movie with Casamassa?
