New Harry Potter Outpaces Transformers in Advance Ticket Sales

Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince is not coming out for another 8 days (July 15) and yet it is already on pace to outsell Transformers for advance ticket sales. The film already represents 61% of daily ticket sales according to Fandango, the nation’s leading moviegoer destination. As if fans need more of a reason to get advance sale tickets, Fandango, as a bonus, if giving every Harry Potter advance ticket buyer a free music download of the song Friends and Love, from the film’s soundtrack.
According to Fandango COO Rick Butler:
” ‘The Half-Blood Prince’ is turning out to be one of our fastest-selling titles of the year.”
This is the sixth Harry Potter movie in what will be a total of eight. There are seven books but the seventh book will be split into two separate movies. In a related promo, Fandango said a poll of more than 3,000 visitors to its Web site found that 85% of respondents had read all seven Potter books.

It will likely gross a lot more than Transformers and it sure as hell better be better than the absolute crap that was Michael Bay's Toure de Garbage.
