New Photos for Alice In Wonderland
By Laura Aguirre
Some new pictures have been posted for Tim Burton‘s upcoming Alice In Wonderland film courtesy of Slashfilm. The photos include Mia Wasikowska as Alice, Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter, and Helena Bonham Carter as the Red Queen, also there’s a cute and fluffy white rabbit in the arms of Alice.
Take a look at the photos below . . .
From the neck up, these pictures look like the first set of photos, but these show more wardrobe and props; two rabbits and a pig which is always nice. The picture of the Red Queen does bring up a question: Why is she holding a pig? We’ll have to wait and see.
Don’t forget that Alice In Wonderland is due to hit theaters March 5, 2010.

There are actually two different Lewis Carroll books featuring Alice, "Alice's Adventures In Wonderland" and "Through The Looking Glass". The Red Queen and the White Queen don't even appear in AAIW, they are in TTLG. The Queen of Hearts is the one who was running around constantly shouting "off with their heads" in AAIW. There is a character called the Duchess in AAIW who carries around a sneezing, bawling baby. When she hands the baby to Alice to hold for her, the baby turns into a pig. In terms of the Red Queen and the pig, Tim B. might be taking some artistic license. I still can't wait to see it.

Well, in the book I believe there was a boy belonging to the duchess who turned into a pig. I don't think the duchess is in the movie, but that is one theory I have. Another is each animal represents the character's true self. The White Queen is mild as a mouse, Alice is quiet like a rabbit, etc. lol
